Now I know you might be rolling your eyes at the headline ..yea yea, its obvious. But I recently read two articles which illustrate how progressive/left parties around the world are getting shellacked by right/far-right parties. They also showcase that right-wing parties are more adept at politics and at sticking together than left-wing parties.

This article shows how the Jeremy Corbyn led Labour Party has literally disintegrated in the UK, leading to a near one-party state in the form of the conservative Tory party. And they are not done yet: Labour is set to lose even more seats in the upcoming election because Corbyn is set on creating a “movement” instead of winning elections.

Ignore the headline. The real meat in this article describes how Bibi Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party dominated Israel politics for almost three decades and is currently in the midst of fending off even more extreme far right splinter parties. The center-left party, much like in Britain, is disjointed.
In both Israel and Britain, its not like there has been a vast increase in conservative votes/population. Rather the left-wing parties are so disjointed and hapless, it has led to a one-party states where much like in Japan, national decisions take place within warring factions of one large party instead of different government oppositions.
I have little hope that Democrats will get their act together for 2018 and 2020, but I wanted to post this diary as a warning on daily kos. At the least, it makes for interesting reading.
