Next year, Minneapolis will host the quadrennial GALA Choruses Festival, the largest LGBTA choral festival in the world. Over 6000 singers from over 100 choruses will descend on Minneapolis July 4-8, 2020 for five days of concerts, workshops, community performances, and parties. All concerts will be open to the public for a fee, or you can purchase a festival pass HERE, which will allow you to attend all festival events. The early-bird price ends after Oct 31, so if you’re a choir junkie then you’ll want to take advantage of the lower price.
As someone who has attended every festival since 2000 with One Voice Mixed Chorus, what makes these festivals special is not only reconnecting with friends, but how unique many of these choruses are. If you’re used to the normal Minnesota choir experience of a bunch of people singing beautifully without facial expressions or movement, then you will be pleasantly surprised. A number of these choruses are internationally known, and as good as any professional chorus you’ve ever heard.

I hope I will see your smiling faces in the audience.
I’ll leave you with the video some of us made to welcome visitors to our great city.
