"A message to all quitters: you don't have to avoid GUS if your latest attempt to quit didn't work out. We won't give you a bad time and we consider the attempted quits as practice for the real quit." (h/t to FG)

to name a few, I'm going to share 20(ish) releases I plunked my notes and coins down for and my own mini review of each. This will be the 5th year I've done this, and I enjoy doing it. Your level of fun-itude might be lower, but... meh. Write your own diary. The same basic framework applies from before, these are my choices, not reflective of or on the group, it's a positive distraction, so on and so forth.
I really do think this every year but, "this is a golden age for music."
There's never been more options, choices, formats, streams, styles, live performances, to satisfy anyone and everyone, no matter your musical tastes. Or budget. That's important too. I'm not wealthy by any means. I've spent most of my time rummaging through the bargain bins, and have picked up some really awesome stuff from years that aren't 2014 for $1 or $2.
I've trended towards a particular genre in the recent past, and that's been fueled by a desire for uplifting, positive, bpm's used while riding a stationary bike (and I have the daily log entries to verify I work out best, I get my best time scores, heart rate, etc. not when I'm reading or watching but when I'm just listening to music) and that plays into the self improvement that this group helps to foster and build in each of us.
