Let's see now. During the entire year of the campaign between Bush and Kerry, we stood at terror alert Orange, or whatever color denoted high threat.
Bush wanted to remind us daily of that great threat that only he and the Republicans were capable of handling.
That was the centerpiece of his election campaign, if you remember. Yes, only Republicans (and Bush) could make us feel safe and secure from that nebulous enemy.
If anybody noticed, come November 4th up till today, no more color Orange. The threat that was threatened never materialized, and once Bush was elected (one way or another), there was no need to terrorize us.
There couldn't be any ulterior motive that the threat has now appeared again, could there?
The fact that a great majority of Americans think the war was a waste, a failed effort, certainly couldn't have a bearing, could it? So much so that Bush gave one more (yawn) speech today telling us how those evil mooslems are out to destroy our great effort to (fill in the latest Bush rationale for the war.)
