    purpose only -- to collect and accumulate email addresses of potential suckers for right wing fundraising endeavors and to sell to lists targeting same.
    They're the descendants of the direct mail enterprise that initially kept the Republican base on the hook. They are the electronic version of burial insurance salesmen who used to make weekly collections in housing projects. It's quite amazing how pennies a week can add up. When the Obama campaign enabled cell phone users to make instant small dollar contributions, they were building on the same pattern.
