  •  Demographics in TX look disastrous for GOP (1+ / 0-)

I think kos is being generous when he says TX will be a swing state in 2024.  The young Mr. Bush's heritage and looks are irrelevant as long as his family name remains radioactive to Latinos.

Shirley Chisholm was right. Our Republic is in deep trouble.

    •  That's what the demographics look like, but do not (0+ / 0-)

      underestimate the Bushes in Texas.

For one thing, demographics alone won't get Democrats elected. Some Democrats are going to have to get together and build a functional state-wide organization.  That simply does not exist now.

The blue islands function independently and many rural areas have little to no Democratic organization.

The Bushes already have the money, the organization, the string of people who "owe" them favors, etc, woven throughout the state.

Demographically, the people will favor Democrats, but only if Democrats are organized and present intelligent, sincere and electable candidates. Otherwise, the white minority demographics will continue to elect Republicans.
