  •  Lots of reasons for the fall off (7+ / 0-)

    compared to 2008. Less swing states. In 2008 you had Indiana, Missouri, Montana, and to some extent South Dakota and Georgia. It was also the first time ever having a black candidate on a major party line, which spiked turnout. And also, let's not forget, that Sandy probably caused a million less votes in the northeast.

    There is no such thing as an off year election. Every election effects each other. We need to work as hard in 2014 as we did in 2012.

      Dems got 36% in 1992,  
      41% in 96 and 200,
      39% in 2004.T
      hat is no swing state
      Except Obama did win it by 1% in 2008
      Then he got just 44% in 2012, more like the old days.

      Indiana puzzles me

        strong play for Indiana in 08.
