  •  Climate change (0+ / 0-)

They've been beaten on that issue as well.

    •  I'll believe that when we have Cap&Trade (10+ / 0-)

-- and when states stop suing the EPA
-- and when the Alberta oil sands are no longer economically viable
-- and when we all (US & Canadians alike) say "HELL, NO!" to trans-shipping of Canada's dirty oil
-- and when there are wind farms off the Middle Atlantic Coast
-- and when VA, NC, & SC governments accept that their coastlines are in fact flooding
-- and when there are Prius cars all over Southern Maryland.

Oops. Wait.  About that last item....

Seriously, there's no end to the fight over climate change as long as we live in a corporation-dominated society.  I signed on back in the 1960s for what I expected would be a lifetime fight.

      And it is.  Sigh.

..I meant the argument that it exists due to carbon emissions.  But apparently I'm wrong about that too. I thought post Hurricane Sandy public opinion shifted significantly.

but, as you say, the struggle to make just that part of it obvious to others of good will is proving a tough one.

And after that, well, there's all those other anti-science folks.  I don't even know where to begin with them.  Heck, I'm a hard scientist, and I no longer have a clue.

How I wish I could be more optimistic, like you!  Just reading your words is like a ray of light in the darkness.

          Many thanks!

in fact, that's where we most lag in public opinion and ability to get past GOP and corporate obstructionism.
