Hope we can change things a bit in 2014.

    •  Same in Michigan. Blue state, Gop governance. (13+ / 0-)

And, boy, are these guys pushing their temporary advantage:
Right to work, anti-abortion, emergency financial managers, gutting environmental protections, quashing green initiatives, opening public lands for exploitation and, for some fucked up reason, approving wolf hunting.
      Every day brings new outrages.

I can see Canada from my house. No, really, I can.

      •  A lesson learned painfully in 2010. (6+ / 0-)

Governors are important, very important.  The Democrats lack luster voting performance in 2010 played perfectly into the GOP's plan to build a governor cabal. They did exactly that, and we've been feeling the pain ever since.  Not to mention that 2010 is responsible for the GOP gerrymandering we're going to have to live with for too damn long.

Swear to God, if Democrats doof themselves again in 2014, for WHATEVER reason, including any progressives in the corner who can't pull their thumbs out of their mouths for long enough to avoid another 2010, then...

Well, what am I gonna do? Will I keep fighting for a party that can't take responsibility for their voting record in the  mid terms? I really don't know the answer to that for myself.

        •  Also, elections following a census are important. (0+ / 0-)

Although you can technically redistrict at any time many of these states saw a shift in their state legislators due to gerrymandering by the GOP after the census numbers came out.

There is no such thing as an unimportant election.
