Jerry Weller must be very scared. Voters in Illinois' 11th District are receiving a new racist mail piece depicting a larger than life image of Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. imposed over the Chicago skyline, holding John Pavich by puppet strings in reversal of the appalling minstrel show imagery of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Jackson is depicted as a looming menace threatening the interests of Will County in relation to the proposed Abraham Lincoln/Peotone Airport.
John Pavich held a press conference on Wednesday with Will County Executive Larry Walsh and State Senate Majority Leader Debbie Halvorson condemning the ad. "This ad is of the sickest nature, meant to frighten and exploit voters. This is race baiting." stated Pavich.
Since the mailer began hitting mailboxes, the Chicago Tribune has published an extensive article and a copy of the mailer in their Metro Section (covering the south and southwest section of their audience). It includes strong comments by Jackson. The article can be found here:

John Pavich has appeared with Cliff Kelly on WVON discussing the issue.
This race is truly winnable, but John can still use more money. Please donate at:

FYI...John Pavich has only met Jesse Jackson Jr. twice, in passing, at political events.
