When the Democratic Convention began, it seemed like it was all Clinton all the time. I found this to be incredibly frustrating. After all, wasn't this supposed to be about Obama? He's the one, after all, that won the nomination.
Now I see that milking the Clinton "controversy" was a stroke of genius on behalf of the convention planners.
Democratic conventions lately have been lame events... no surprises... in a word, boring.
With all of the discussion about if and how the Clintons would help unify the party, there was intrigue. And intrigue, I'm sure, drew interest--and therefore more viewership.
The groundwork was laid perfectly for Obama to walk in and sweep everyone off their feet.
It couldn't have been better orchestrated. Brilliant.
Feels great to say that about a major Democratic effort.
