We are witnessing the Republican Party campaigning on fabrications, lies, and distortions of epic proportions.
Today, the major newspapers are reporting about lying and Republican strategists now say that their lies and distortions are, in essence good for them and there is too little time left for correcting the images they constructed.
I have an answer BILL CLINTON
Later today, the Barrack Obama Campaign is opening his Palm Beach Party headquarters in Delray Beach, Florida and I'll be there to celebrate this event before going on to a Democratic organizational meeting with other Precinct leaders and volunteers.
Before these events, I will be registering a few individuals (as many as I can find) to vote and stopping by the local Kinko's to have door hangers made up to leave while canvassing.
I have been pondering this diary for a few days and hope that what is contained can be discussed by others with the eye towards refining a "game ender" type of refocusing this nation's attention on the issues while shredding the Republican lying machines credibility in the eyes of most Americans.
Simply put; There is no one on Earth that can address this nation on the subject of the importance of telling the truth like our own past President BILL CLINTON.
- Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about a sexual matter in a Civil lawsuit.
- In 1997-98 Republican's stressed that two elements were necessary for the nation to continue; Honesty and the principle that no person is above the law.
- In 1998 the Republicans were fully committed to that policy.
- Ten years later, truth is nothing, getting voters hyped up to vote for them is more important today than the truth.
- The principle that "all is fair in Politics" is the Republican motto of 2008 and that means lying to Americans is merely a tool and lies are effective and unimportant.
- Americans must pay attention to the issues and realize the Republicans themselves acknowledge that the Republican record cannot be honestly supported.
- Americans must examine the facts, and disregard the fiction, must disregard the warm fuzzy images.
- Americans must demand to hear John McCain's actual policy differences with current Republican policy.
There is no one capable of garnering the attention and capable of providing this nation with a thorough review of the impact of being honest means to this nation.
Bill Clinton had his second term ravaged by his Impeachment over a subject that today forms the basis of the Republican campaign efforts.
Bill Clinton can look this nation square in the eye and ask the question that few are more capable of asking.
Perhaps the question would be complex, reminding the nation of Republicans loudly decrying the misconduct of lying, stating just how much he has come to understand their requirements of honesty. Then reciting the litany of lies, distortions, half truths, and mendacious words, ending by asking; WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT HONORED REPUBLICAN TRADITION?
Was it nothing more than politics?
What happened to those Republican ideals?
This could change the entire Republican campaign, how would they respond?
I see this a low hanging fruit, but, the price to Bill Clinton would be steep.
I also believe such a speech would elevate Bill Clinton to the level of HONORED STATESMAN for his sacrifice.
