Well, I don't care if this isn't popular, but I'm really angry. My kids' college savings, and my retirement is now down to 1999 levels due to the stock market crash.
This crash was predicted. We were warned. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but we needed to do something. Obama is right to criticize Congress. And this is one time when I completely disagree with Markos. I know, this isn't a diary, it's too short, it doesn't have links. I don't care. We are really going to be hurting. This has severe consequences for my kids, for my life. People should have listened to Krugman, who thought this should be passed, even if it's not perfect. The perfect seems to be the enemy of the good here.
Update: Oops, I had it wrong, We're where we were in 1998. Great. My younger daughter was born that year.
Update 2: Yes, we have a balanced portfolio. We have bonds, etc. This is a very, very, very bad day for all investors and savers. This is what people don't get--it's not just Wall Street! It's everything. Go check your retirement accounts, folks!
