It has been an exhausting past 6 months, both career wise and my passion for politics. As I was making my most favorite curry tonight, I thought of how much effect the election has really had on my soul and consiousness. I feel pleased and allow my thoughts to free range on a number of items both past and present. But first, my recipe...
I love this lamb curry recipe..
People in this country do not eat enough of the fragrant sweet meat that is lamb. Mmm, mmm. Wow, do I feel like a raging carnivore.
Simple recipe.
2 lbs of cubed lamb.
pinch of turmeric
2 tsps of garam masala
7-10 cloves
short broken stick cinnamon
1 tsp cayenne powder
curry leaves 10-12
Make some basmati rice. While that is cooking, take the garam masala and mix it with a glass of water. Put some veg oil heat med high in pan and add cloves and cinn stick. Put in curry leaves and let them pop in the hot oil then add cubed lamb. Add turmeric and cayenne while browning. Lastly, add garma masala mixture and simmer. Mmmmmm.
These are some of my musings that have bounced all over in my brain like warm rain on a tired face....
...the change that we need is best administered by people that reassure us, people we know and trust, thus it is not the people appointed who are the change-brilliant Barack, a political master stroke..
...Joe Lieberman has just been made a puppet. This could not have occured if he had left the Dem caucus. To keep his chairmanship, he will do the masters bidding, and grovel and bark when told to. At first I didn't see it, now it is clearly sweet control. Barack has given us a master lesson in orchestrating a situation that makes him the magnamus uniter and Joe the snivelling two faced ass kisser. It just doesn't get any sweeter....
...Nothing in my life will rival the 10 CST call on election night for Obama. I just figured it would somehow be snatched away. I cried like a baby. Yea, awesome stuff. My friends in England emailed me and called me afterwards and said the same thing. From one day we are the most despised nation on earth and the next day we are the toast of the world. "You yanks just fricking surprise the shite out of us. Just when most of us had pegged you all for crazy warmongering wanckers, then you outshine everyone". Hell yea...
Finally I'd like to say this. I trust Barack to do the right thing. Because I believe him to be an honest exceptional human being. My only thought drift to Tony Blair. That's what my pals in England reminded me. They had the same high hopes for Tony Blair, and look what a tosser he turned out to be. But Barack is no Tony, and I'm letting that rain wash on my tired old face again, with a big Baracky smile....
Peace and hope to all.
