The way things are going, Clinton will have won Indiana only because of Rush Limbaugh. That's got to hurt.

And poor Hillary -- the final Indiana results won't be known for another hour or so. If she goes on now and declares victory, and then loses the state (even if it's a longshot now), that would be deadly. But if she waits, everyone will go to bed and she'll speak to no one. Dilemma!

And can Obama's popular vote margin in North Carolina hit 200,000, and thus negate Pennsylvania?

Update: Obama would have to win 57 percent of Lake County to win the state. A tall order, but we'll see.

      friend.  He was in Bill Clinton's administration when he was in office and has been a surrogate for Hillary appearing on various tv channels to stump for her.  He is extremely loyal--defending Bill constantly during the Lewinsky scandal and he's been quite loyal to Hillary as well.  Tonight he's being rather pouty and arrogant from what I've seen on CNN (which I rarely watch).  He is not being at all gracious about her problems in winning Indiana and has been really hostile at times to various people who are on tonight's CNN panel.  Shorter version:  he's being a real jackass tonight.

    I would guesstimate that would mean there are about 275,000 registered voters in the county; let's say maybe 150,000 registered Democrats (that would be high).

    If half of those voted today (75,000), Obama would have to win them by a vast margin to pull off a victory (55,000 to 20,000 would mean a 35,000-vote differential, but that's more than 2-to-1).

    But he can make it close to a dead heat, especially in terms of delegates ... which would be great.

            My great-grandmother lived in Camden, NJ towards the end of her life. She owned a house on River Road right in the middle of town for about 30 years. She died in 1981.

            We put her house up for sale and received no offers except one - for $3,000. And yes, that was as much a piddling amount in 1981 as it is today. The realtor told us to take it, AS THE PRICE WOULD ONLY GO DOWN FROM THERE. My grandmother was the executor. She took the 3 grand and got the hell out of Dodge.

            When the manhole covers are stolen out of the middle of the streets for drug money, it's no longer a functioning city. When a mayor elected by the people, Milton Milan, ends up being recognized as an ex-drive-by shooter from his teenage years, you no longer have a city.

            Most importantly, when American businesses like RCA abandon Camden for greener pastures and cheaper labor, you no longer have a city.

            I don't remember laughing at Camden's fate. I DO remember RCA laughing all the way to the bank. The fact that I wouldn't be caught dead there is the reality of the current surroundings. It'll take a hell of a lot more than an aquarium and an amphitheatre to resuurect that place.

    That is probably causing HUGE problems for election officials in Lake County today.

    Now, the voter rolls are supposed to be tidied up prior to each election. Indiana's last general election was in Nov. 2006, and they have had a slew of special and general elections since then. So how have 1.1 million voters -- 26 percent of the current statewide list -- escaped the regularly scheduled voter registration cleanup squads? Who are these million voters and where do they come from?

    One quarter-million of them come from just two northwestern Indiana counties: Lake and Porter. Lake County reports purging 137,164 voters and neighboring Porter County cancelled out 124,958 voters.

    Lake County, the home of Gary, Indiana, has spawned the Jackson Five and a great old musical (The Music Man) and and has been referred to as "the second most liberal county in America." Lake County has one of the heaviest concentrations of African-American voters that you'll find anywhere in the USA.

  My math tells me so. With 85% of the vote in, and Clinton leading 52.05%-47.95%, Obama would have to win 62% of the remaining vote. I know Lake County hasn't reported a single vote yet, but I don't think that it's realistic anymore.
