The Bush administration, on their way out, handed Obama a plan for a military expansion in Afghanistan, a concept the Bush administration was unwilling to pursue while they were in power.
Bush/Cheney had plans to increase our presence in Afghanistan, they really did, but out of all those years after 911, they just couldn’t get their plan together until it was time for them to leave town and pass the job to Obama.
We should ask ourselves this:
During the Bush/Cheney administration, did they care more about
A: The troops?
Or
B: The neo-conservative political agenda?
Why should that political agenda change after they leave power?
We know how the Bush administration supported the troops.
We can’t forget how serious they were about the care of our injured troops. Walter Reed and beyond.
How on-the-ball they were about getting critical supplies, like body armor, to our troops in Iraq.
We all know how conscientious the Bush administration was about how the stress of long and multiple deployments take their toll on soldiers and their families.
It’s clear the safety and well-being of our troops played 2nd fiddle to the Bush/Cheney political agenda. And why should the neo-conservative agenda change after they leave power?
It might be just me, but it feels like we're being lured into Afghanistan.
