I just received the first robo call (that I've actually answered) this fall. (I just recently discovered caller ID and I love it.) This one was obviously prerecorded; she didn't pause when I called her an idiot. She told me that my representative, Tom Perriello, voted for a massive cut in Medicare; the voice was that of an elderly woman. I would tell you more, except that I hung up at that point.
Clearly, I was targeted because someone found out I'm elderly; it was probably the opinion poll that I answered two months ago where I gave my age and said I'm a liberal democrat. They thought the old lady voice would persuade me...phooey!
When I looked up the number on Google, it was located in Minot ND. I have no connections to Minot ND. I called the number back and got a prerecorded message to press one if I did not want to be contacted again. I did not want to be contacted the first time!! When I called back the second time, and listened through the "if you do not want to be contacted" message the second time without doing anything, it repeated over and over. At no point did an actual human being answer the phone.
I checked the Do Not Call Registry to make sure I'm still on it, and then made a complaint. Oh yes, I have a landline.
So, they are coming....
