FL Gov. Rick Scott and Cabinet are at it again.
The unanimous vote ends the automatic restoration of voting and other civil rights to nonviolent felons once their sentences are up.

Well, that didn’t last long. Didn’t past FL Gov. Charlie Crist just restore the voting rights of ex-felons during his term?
Sitting as the Board of Executive Clemency, they voted 4-0 to change the panel's rules and require at least a five-year waiting period before ex-convicts can apply to get their rights back.
'They' in the blockquote refers to Gov, Scott and cabinet members including the FL Attorney General Pam Bondi. Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Cabinet adopted new clemency rules Wednesday (today).
Get that? Wait five years after release and then ASK to have your voting rights restored. FL Attorney General Pam Bondi says civil rights must be earned! And that’s for non-violent ex-felons. Ex-felons convicted of violent crimes have to wait at least seven years after release.
The change is effective immediately, and affects more than 100,000 felons.
I threw my back out and typing is difficult. That’s the gist of it. One giant step backward in Florida every day. It’s scary, folks.
