Our town's Democratic Committee is working on its campaign for the fall elections, and I registered a domain name with Google Sites to host a web site for us. (I also got a Twitter feed, a Facebook page, and a Blogspot blog to use as well.) I've spoken to the more veteran members of the committee about how we can use these various tools to disseminate our message and keep people informed about both our candidates and the problems that they plan to address when in office.
The only problem that I'm seeing is in designing the site. While I've done some programming (client-side and server-side), I don't have any kind of artistic eye for creating an appealing page. I can recognize good and bad designs, but have never felt comfortable in creating my own.
Anyone out there have any recommendations for a (hopefully public domain) page layout/design that I could legally use for this task?
