I received an unsolicited email from Diane Black, the Republican/Tea Party congresswoman from TN-06. This woman has taken big piles of money from oil industry special interests while pretending to represent the people of my district. Her office was also the source of a very offensive and racially-charged email about President Obama back in '09.
Her email was entitled "Help Me Fix What's Broken in Washington." The details are unimportant (she's a teabagger; you can imagine what kinds of things it said).
I don't know how I ended up on her mailing list, but I sure as hell didn't appreciate it.
And I told her so.
Read my response to Ms. Black below the squiggle.
My reply to Congresswoman Diane Black:
Take me off this mailing list.
You may represent my district, but you do not represent me.
I shall respond to your dishonest, long-winded diatribe with some honest brevity of my own. One thing that has become crystal clear to me over the last few years is that there are two types of Republicans: millionaires and suckers. I know which type you are, Ms. Black. And I can assure you that I am no sucker.
The Tea Party is the most vile, dispicable and disingenuous American political movement of my lifetime. If you want to know what's wrong in Washington today, Ms. Black, I suggest that you go take a good long look in a mirror.
DO NOT pollute my inbox with your foul drivel ever again.
Sincerely,
Phil T Duck
My response says everything it needs to say, I suppose. But the feeling that I could've said more--much more--is gnawing at me.
But I guess the rest of my reply will be neatly summed up when I cast my vote in the next election.
