Short diary because I'll let the Center for American Progress do all the work for me.
The following links are from the Center for American Progress' web site from earlier in the year. I thought the information was particularly relevant now considering.
In it you'll find what the Affordable Care Act has done to date to help Americans and their families. Check the site out, it seems chock full of important facts and stats. Something we can all use now that we're facing what will no doubt be a tsunami of spit flying from the mouths of right-wingers as they lie and try to turn people against it.
That is, after all, what they're all about--getting people to vote against their own best interests. And if you haven't noticed, we've been fully engaged in a war for the truth these last few decades.
First and foremost:
Two Years of Health Care Reform: Millions Benefited, Millions Saved
Just two years after President Barack Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law on March 23, 2010, millions of Americans have already benefited from its sweeping reforms. While the new law’s provisions will not be fully implemented until 2014, it is making a difference by drastically improving access to higher-quality care, addressing rising health care costs, and protecting consumers.
On top of that is this handy dandy interactive map of state by state statistics.
Interactive Map: How Health Reform Is Helping Your State
The Obama administration recently released updated data (from February 2012) demonstrating how health reform has helped Americans across the country over the last year. Select your state to learn more about how the Affordable Care Act has benefited your community.
