I'm feeling good right now. Real good. The story from the Boston Globe about Romney and his actual date of departure from Bain Capital, Romney's refusal to release his tax records, the possibility that he gamed the system (lied) in order to run for Governor in Massachusetts, his connection to outsourcing as early as 1998 and his offshore accounts. Ah, I'm seeing the blood in the water. It's only a matter of time before even the slow MSM races to the story like sharks to chum. And the best thing is that although the activities Romney used may be complicated, the story we can tell is simple: Mitt Romney lied and is continuing to lie to the American people.
I'm hoping that where ever Romney goes, Vice President Biden follows. The Obama Administration is obviously ready to unleash hell on Romney. The line about Romney wanting others to show their papers but refuses to show his papers (tax returns) is an indication on where they're going to focus. And Biden is the perfect person to lead the team that will be hammer these points home over and over again. We don't need to get fancy, we don't need charts and numbers. We just need to scream at the top of our lungs for those tax returns. We need to outcrazy the tea party about these tax returns and keep the pressure on him at all levels. I'm sure "Papers Please" stickers and buttons with Romney's face and an 1120 tax form are already being printed. The schadenfreude I feel, after suffering from the idiotic cries from the Tea Party and others for Obama's birth certificate, is sinfully delicious.
Ann Romney was right about one thing. Obama is going to make sure that Romney will never, ever be able to run for another office in the U.S. of A. In fact, I'm predicting that Romney is going to be a pariah after this Presidential Election. But it may be even better. At the very least, please, please let this scandal set a precedent that those from business will have to release their complete tax returns when running for all levels of government, something I'm guessing many will be loath to do. And that Obama, with the blessing of the American people disgusted with this scandal, will be able to sign legislation that would muzzle the Citizens United ruling, which is IMHO one of the most dangerous rulings the Supreme Court has made.
I've got that hopey changey feeling again. And damn but it feels good.
