Hi, everyone! First up, an update on the two quilts we are creating. Per Melanie in IA, the Okiciyap top is pieced, and she has all the elements for the NFTT top. She hopes to get them sent to BeadLady next week, who thinks they can both be complete by mid-March.
So it's time to start spreading the word about auctioning off the Okiciyap quilt. I was thinking of publicizing the event by people writing diaries, and mentioning it in comments everywhere. When the actual dates are decided, have people bid within a set amount of time.
Once the winning bid is determined, the donation can be made and the quilt sent to the lucky winner. Either the money would be sent to BeadLady or whomever was physically holding the quilt, or a proof of donation.
DK Quilt Guild: A place for quilters to gather, share ideas, projects, and to make the world a better place, one quilt at a time. Join us and share your thoughts, projects, questions, and tips. Quilters here are at many different levels of skill. Beginners and non-quilters are welcome, too!
Of course, people can donate to the foodshelf without bidding on the quilt so we don't want to discourage that. In fact it could be worthwhile to run a small donation collection at the same time.
What do you out there think?
Please DO NOT be shy in the comments.
