I was inspired by this comment in this diary to go to The Trevor Project and donate in Fred Phelps' name.
When I clicked on the "Submit" button, I discovered that I could send someone an eCard to let them know that I had donated in his honor.
So I sent it to the Westboro Baptist Church.
I had to supply an email address for the card to go to, but I didn't want to give WBC's vile site any traffic by going to it to look for an email address. I sure hope going to the google cache for the info doesn't give them any mojo.
And this is what I put on the card:
I can't think of a better way to honor Fred Phelps than to donate to an organisation that helps the people you all hate. Enjoy. And my employer matches donations, too.
It might be a bit childish, but I've got this grin I can't get rid of, imaging whoever screens the email at WBC reading the eCard that says "In receiving this gracious gift, you are helping us build a brighter future for LGBTQ youth."
