I am sure you all remember a presidential candidate by the name of Rick Santorum, whose secondary name recognition is a result of a Google bomb started by Savage Love.
The reason for said Google bomb was statements like this by Santorum:
In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality.
Hence, we have the nasty "man on dog" reference by a devout Roman Catholic politician, and the resulting frothiness, courtesy of the internet.
Okay, fast forward to the nooze this week: there's a lovely little town in the state of Missouri named Roach. In Roach one can find a Christian enclave named the Windermere Baptist Conference Center. Their Mission Statement (I know: I read it on their website) says:
As a dedicated, Christ-like team we will provide a Christian setting in which life changing experiences may occur for all involved.
I suppose this constitutes a life changing experience: the CEO of Windermere, one Jerald Hill,
{probably don't want to read this in the office} was arrested on Aug 5 for trying to set up a tryst to have sex with a dog, and another.. um.. animal type that wasn't made public. Unfortunately, he was emailing an undercover cop. Bad luck, that!! He got nabbed when he showed up for the meeting. Say amen, somebody.
So my confusion runs along these lines:
To Mr. Santorum:
- Does your "man on dog" statement - assuming you think it's a bad thing - only apply to Roman Catholic Christians?
- Or, are Baptist Christians not actually Christians? Thinking Venn diagram here.
To Mr. Hill:
- If "man on dog" was equivalent to homosexuality, wouldn't it be safer and less illegal to simply blow some guy at some undisclosed location? or is Mr. Santorum wrong regarding the distinction?
- "Roach MO." Seriously? is that a good location for a Christian center? I personally prefer the name "Vermin". I checked. It's not taken yet.
- I wonder if you have any Christ-like recommendations about how to have sex with a dog.
Actually I take that back; I tend to
not wonder about that at all. But now that you've been fired, perhaps you can find a job as a youth pastor somewhere. That could be an interesting vocation change for you.
