In other news, North Korea has a huge volcano. Who knew? Paektu Mountain. It's responsible for one of the largest volcanic explosions in recorded history. And it's showing signs of life.
The curious thing is that North Korea, seemingly at random, chose two vulcanologists from the West to work with North Korean scientists to determine it's condition.
While it's unlike the North Koreans to look for western help, this abundance of caution about Paektu has caused the Korean government to play nice all of a sudden. And given how secretive about releasing ANY information on anything which might reflect badly on the government, I'm surprised they admitted to needing help. (wild speculation ahead...) This may point to the situation being worse than we know right now.
Sorry about the short diary.
