The social advocacy charity,
Color of Change, has ironically received a cease and desist letter from the crowdfunding platform, GoFundMe, declaring that Color of Change must stop all public criticism of GoFundMe practices or be sued. The perverted irony lies in the fact that GoFundMe chose to completely ignore the sincere and impassioned pleas of thousands of African-American users of their platform to remove fundraising campaigns proven to be driven and funded by overt racists.
Officer Darren Wilson, seen by six eyewitnesses shooting Mike Brown in cold blood, has collected nearly $500,000 from GoFundMe—which has shared in the spoils—while donors actively cheered on Officer Darren Wilson in the comments section of the campaign's page. Dozens and dozens of donors congratulated Wilson and told him they hoped he'd spend the money on "beers and strippers" while calling Mike Brown everything from a thug and an ape, to a gorilla. Here are but a few of the comments:

Color of Change has just put an advocacy billboard up near the San Diego GoFundMe offices with the message, #DontFundHate, for the Color of Change campaign @ DontFundHate.org.
Here it is! Go see it for yourself near 1000 Broadway in San Diego, California, or check out the campaign at the link above.
UPDATE
Below is the just-released copy of the cease and desist letter sent from GoFundMe to Color of Change. In it, not only does GoFundMe suggest that the fund for Mike Brown's family is somehow the moral equivalent of the fund for the man on paid leave who murdered Mike Brown, they basically admit that it would be wrong to raise funds for Darren Wilson if he were charged with a crime. The flaw in this thinking is that six people, five of whom had no idea who Mike Brown or Darren Wilson were, report that they saw this man murder Mike Brown in cold blood with his hands in the air. By the time a charge comes down, if ever, it will be far too late. Furthermore, GoFundMe refuses to admit that it was widely proven, not only by the comments on their own platform, but on message boards all over the world, that noted hate groups were actively donating to and promoting these campaigns.
Could a terrorist who's never been charged with harming Americans, but was seen doing so, use GoFundMe?
