Jason is determined to win and is taking his powerful hard-hitting campaign to the finish line. I just got an email from the Ritchie campaign and he's added another important endorsement to the impressive list he has already. This one is by the Alliance for Retired Americans, "a national advocacy organization that provides a powerful voice for retired Americans and senior citizens."
....Jason Ritchie's opponent, Congressman Reichert, received a voting record score of 22 (on a scale of 1 - 100) from the ARA. This rating reflects how committed elected representatives are to retirees and older Americans. Rep. Reichert has harmed retirees in recent months by voting for the Ryan Budget which would have slashed Social Security and switched Medicare over to a voucher system, thereby decreasing patient access to health care benefits. Reichert also voted to slash SNAP Funding, programs that provide food aid to vulnerable seniors.
Jason Ritchie remarked: “I'm proud to have received the endorsement of the Alliance for Retired Americans and their more than four million members. I'm glad that their membership knows we need representatives who will work to protect the earned benefits and critical programs that are crucial to our nation.”
“Jason Ritchie’s strong positions on fighting Social Security and Medicare privatization and strengthening Social Security and Medicare confirm his commitment to improving the quality of life for older Americans,” said Richard Fiesta, Executive Director of the Alliance. “He understands that selling off our Medicare to the big insurance companies or turning our Social Security over to Wall Street would benefit few and harm many, including Washington seniors.”
