My mother has Alzheimer's, but she still has it going on enough to vote and today she asked me to fill out her mail-in ballot. She said, "Just pick all the Democrats". Easy choice, right? Let's talk about that.
That worked until we got to State Senate, CA District 26 where two Democrats are on the ballot, Ben Allen and Kossack Sandra Fluke. I have a commitment to not only electing more and better Democrats, but promoting increased numbers of Democratic women in these positions, so helping her make that choice was easy. And for Los Angeles County Supervisor in the Third District, I am so pleased that my mother was able to vote for Sheila Kuehl, a champion of social justice.
But what about the state propositions and the other non-partisan offices? I know I am against Prop. 46, a mishmash of things that do not belong crammed together, no matter what I might think of the individual issues. However, I'm not entirely sure which way to vote on the other propositions.
Southern California, how are you voting? What do you recommend?
Fri Oct 31, 2014 at 9:24 PM PT: I forgot to mention: those of you voting for Board Member, Division 3 of the Water Replenishment District, I recommend Gerrie Schipske whom I have known for over 30 years.
