Please note. I am a white male America watching this from oversees with incredible sadness but I would like to present this question. I want to ask what would have happened if it had been a version of me, instead of Michael Brown. Let's look below the fold. SPOILER ALERT: totally different outcome.
Let's put this in perspective with as much leeway as possible. Remember that time when you were a kid or maybe in high school and you stole like a pack of cigs or maybe a CD? Now, let's move that forward and place that event into when you were in high school. Now, let's make sure that here you at white. Now let's make you into the biggest defensive linebacker on your HS football team. Ok, so the owner of the store calls the cops. They pull you over walking down the street. You are a big, mean, white football player. You shout back at them. You even resist arrest. Then you start running away. They shoot and they keep shooting until you are dead. .
Tell me the cop walks. Tell it with a straight face. The above re-creation 'in white' gives the story of the police the very best polish it can get.
And you are bullshit if you claim that the "white" outcome doesn't involve an indictement. I challenge you to argue that and I challenge all of the pro-Wilson people of the world to do the same. Paint it white and some form of accountability comes into play.
Of course though none of this ever would happen. Because cops with guns aren't afraid of big white kids who are clearly unarmed when the kid is running away at full speed. That's not to say that there aren't plenty of times a cop wouldn't be Afraid of a big white kid. Just not in that situation. Not ten bullets later.
You know what? I'm pretty sure that no cop would actually be afraid of the black kid given that situation either ... But hey, now I'm really guessing. The first part? I'm 100 percent sure.
