She is retiring in less than two weeks and has been good to my family. Mother gets checks in the mail big enough to matter four times a year. Mother hides loses them among stacks of newspapers. There are another dozen that we can afford to lose but it is best if all are deposited.
I took away Mother's key to the mailbox last year for good and honest reasons. The current way is that Mother stares out her window and catches the mail carrier who, in the normal way, handed Mother the mail.
Current policy is that the carrier hand Mother only the junk mail.
