While there have been many calls for Sen. Elizabeth Warren to run for president in 2016, it's just not going to happen. For those dreaming of Warren '16, it really is time to move on to the
fifth stage of grief ... and then to cheer up, because as Markos pointed out
months ago, she's not running and that's a good thing:
Sen. Elizabeth Warren bolsters a Senate caucus liberal wing that is growing each election ...
We have an incredible champion, already working to shape the debate from her Senate perch ... Elizabeth Warren will not run. And that makes her more powerful and influential than she ever would as an electoral also-ran.
Head below the fold and watch five more reasons we need Elizabeth Warren in the Senate.
She calls out Wall Street:
She wants to overturn Citizens United:
She denounces attacks on a woman's right to control her own body and health:
She fights violence and discrimination against women:
She's on the side of students:
... and so much more.
So watch, be inspired, and thank [insert preferred deity] that we have her voice in the U.S. Senate, fighting for progressive issues and values and for pointing the Democratic Party in the right direction. (And by "right," I of course mean left!)
