Here is the face of selective enforcement:
Most people would define the police as an agency created to defend public safety. But apparently the law doesn't apply to the NYPD. Patrick Lynch is the face of
dishoner: i.e., those who apparently believe that the police serve only the powers they agree with. "We don't like the way law is going so we're just going to continue doing what we have always done." The Mayor of NY is persona non grata -- so the head of the police union is empowered to undermine the will of the electorate. Patrick Lynch says the Mayor doesn't deserve respect, so Pubs are free to ignore authority and create their own Law.
This is the equivalent of mutiny - the Republican police refuse to acknowledge Democratic authority. The police forget themselves. The duty of the police is to defend. Citizens pay your salaries. You do not dictate public policy.
A side question to the members of the NYPD: Is this blowhard really the voice you want to present to the world? The man makes you look like a Mafia.
