Sent this to some national media outlets. Or, at last, some say...
Thank you for relentlessly covering former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s e-mail scandal. You have doggedly sought to uncover the truth for every one of the past 9 days.
Some say leading republican hopefuls, such as former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, deserve equal time for their e-mail scandals, but are being cheated out of the attention they have earned by the “liberal media.”
Governor Bush has released hundreds of thousands of e-mails from when he was governor. Not released, however, were e-mails relating to politics (say, presidential election recount in November and December 2000) or fundraising. Although he made the decision to screen those out, not removed was personal information about the people contacting the governor, e.g. addresses and social security numbers.
Governor Walker used a private e-mail system to conduct government business while Milwaukee County Executive. Several of his aides were convicted as part of that investigation. During his reelection campaign, e-mails indicate that he and his team were illegally coordinating with outside groups.
By “equal time,” I do not mean one 3 minute story, but rather what Secretary Clinton is receiving, i.e., 9 days (so far) of nonstop coverage. And since it’s “all about the scandals” with the Clintons, should Jeb Bush’s family (wife, son and daughter) have their scandals rehashed in the national media? Anything interesting in Governor Bush’s actions during the presidential election recount in 2000? (Greg Palast thinks so.) Just the sort of stories a hard-nosed, muckraking reporter could sink their teeth into.
