There's two more days until the special election to fill the seat of the New York's 11th congressional district which represents all of Staten Island and a sliver of Southern Brooklyn. The seat was vacant since Republican Michael Grimm resigned due to tax fraud and other corruption issues.
The Republicans picked Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan, who is known for his handling of the Eric Garner chokehold case. Donovan is riding to victory, but he can beat beaten by Vincent Gentile, a councilman representing the south Brooklyn (Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst area). Gentile has not got any traction, but he can win. Democrats need to fight hard in the diverse North Shore, Staten Island if they want to win on Tuesday. Go into the right-wing-leaning South Shore, mobilize. Talk about the minimum wage. Jobs. Ending free-trade. Vinnie Gentile can win. It's up to the voters.
