Am I a flip-flopper? Let's look at the tape.
It is not enough for the Corporate Media to lap up this Flip Flop crap that the Neo-cons push, now they are targeting our community! Daily Kos is under attack from the Neo-cons.
Anderson Cooper was pushing this stupid premise that Barack has shifted and Flipped his position on Iraq. BS! He did not say that, it is being pushed by the Republican media.
On that note, the republicans thought they would be cute and degrade Daily Kos Bloggers.
JOIN ME after the jump for a look at this nonsense.
Cliff May, President of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies stated on AC360 (CNN) last night that Barack Obama
" understands the situation in Iraq fairly well, certainly better than the Daily Kos does and some of those on the left who would like to see America defeated in Iraq".
When challenged by Ed Schultz (radio host of the Ed Schultz Show is Where America Comes to Talk - http://wegoted.net/ ), Mr. May avoided explaining his comments. Mr. May was appointed by Condoleezza Rice to a so-called ‘bipartisan Advisory Committee on Democracy Promotion.
This is typical of the McCain/Bush campaign, to have their pendants continue to spew divisiveness and attack honorable Americans who bravely served in Iraq, during the Viet Nam war (as I did) and other great wars fought by honorable men and women.
So I use the AdBlock Plus plugin for Firefox to block most of the truly heinous advertising on the web.
I have no problem with viewing well behaved ads, especially on sites I support like DailyKos.
I added the suggested string to Adblock and it tells me that the site has been whitelisted.. but I still see the nag block, and no ads.
Any ideas/suggestions?*

On June 5th, Simon Rosenberg of NDN had a conversation in San Francisco with Markos. I was there (and took photos), but for people who weren't, there is now a couple of 4 minute excerpts on YouTube and about 30 minutes (after the jump along with the second YouTube clip) on fora.tv.
Raise your hand if this has ever happened to you.
You're talking to a friend and they casually mention that they saw your significant other talking to another man/woman at a restaurant the other day. Your friend didn't get a good luck and wasn't really sure if it was them or not but they thought they'd tell you anyway. You calmly tell your friend that they must be mistaken because you were both at home at the time and forget about the whole thing. But then on your way home, you start thinking. You go through your memory of the last week and start cataloguing all the hours of the day that the two of you weren't together. Then suddenly you get a call on your cell phone. It's your SO saying they'll be home work from late today. Hey it's nothing new, in fact it happens pretty often, but as you hang up the phone your mind is racing. Scenarios run through your head and you start thinking "Hey, he/she's late a lot, but they've never been late on a TUESDAY before. What gives."
I was recently enjoying a diary which was doing a very good job of explaining polling methods and proper interpretation of poll results. This was a non partisan, non political diary which would have benefitted anyone who simply wanted to know more about polling. I was reading and participating in the comments, when out of the blue up pops a total non sequitor of a comment, a breathtaking screed about both the inadequacies and the evil nature of Obama. My reaction was, huh? So I looked up the author. The author was new to Daily Kos and had posted one other comment, very similar, but in a diary where it was at least relevant to the discussion. When I went back to the original diary and refreshed it the comment had disappeared. This got me thinking.
Excerpts from a two-part essay on the destruction of Hillary Clinton according to the right-wing playbook. Daily Kos has several mentions. I must admit that it required independent thought on my part to not fall for the media's attack, but then the mainstream media tried to sell me Bush over Gore, Bush over Kerry, and the Iraq War so I will vote for the one not being sold by the corporate-consolidated media.
In 1998, as six years of a national campaign to demonize First Lady Hillary Clinton — funded by conservatives and rooted in profound anti-feminism — was reaching a fevered crescendo, then-conservative David Brock (now of Media Matters) penned a book called The Seduction of Hillary Rodham. The publisher's note for the tome says of its subject: "No public figure in contemporary life has elicited more polarized reactions than Hillary Rodham Clinton. The first presidential spouse who pursued a major policymaking role, the beleaguered first lady has been a heroine and role model to her feminist allies - and a malevolent, power-mad shrew to her conservative foes."
Sometime in the last decade, her liberal foes evidently decided that whole "malevolent, power-mad shrew" thing sounded pretty good, too.
I've been here a little more than a month. I came here against the better advice of my big brother, who I always saw as a drama queen always looking at the glass half empty. When he left to live in Italy, I decided to sign up for an account here and prove to my brother that DailyKos wasn't a bad place.
I came here with the belief that there was almost no one further to the left than me. My away message most nights is Paul Wellstone's line "I'm from the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party." In the wake of the flap over FISA and faith-based initiatives, I began to realize, actually, I may be a little further right than like everyone here.
Compared to most people at DailyKos...I'm a Republican.
I apologize in advance for the length of this diary. I don't usually have time to write long entries so when I do it kind of bubbles out.
I was busy for a week teaching a compressed summer course and came back to find Daily Kos, including Kos himself, off the deep end.
Understand this is a rant directed at a position not any persons so please take it in that spirit but take its point seriously.

What are you drinking this eve. I hope it is something fine, everything, but WHINE.
UPDATE: The snarkier the comment on any of the above topics gets mojo from me and anyone who laughs!!!!
I'm a huge believer in multiculturalism. I believe in the soft power of good examples in making the world a better place. Please use this diary as an opportunity to tell us about your ethnic herritage and traditions and how these have shaped your politics. What is your opinion of the Cosby show? I think it was wonderful to show a professional black family on prime time, defying all the stereotypes. What is your story? Let the fun begin!
I have been amazed at the energy and chatter about FISA and how disappointed we all are with Obama’s vote. Can we move on from this? I believe we need to get him elected first, then take another look at how FISA can be changed. Everywhere online this week the talk
is how "netroots "is so upset with Obama. I quote the story today
that is below from Huffpost:
Netroots Nation just published the complete conference agenda for next month's gathering in Austin. A number of Daily Kos Contributing Editors and Featured Writers are serving as panelists:
Energizing America: Setting an Agenda for Progress (Meteor Blades, Devilstower)
The Next President and the Law (Adam B.)
Working from the Inside Out: Success Stories in Netroots Organizing (mcjoan)
Restructuring U.S. Science Policy (DarkSyde)
Hot Topic Panel (Hunter)
60/275: The Races We Aren't Watching but Should (and Those We're Watching, Too) (Brownsox, DavidNYC, Markos)
If you're going to be a Netroots Nation panelist yourself, tell us about your panel in comments.

Update [2008-6-25 20:41:36 by dmsilev]: Forgot to mention: I'm traveling next week, so we'll miss an edition of this. Unless someone wants to sub, of course...
Barack Obama posted a diary on Daily Kos. Twice, actually. The first post was back in September 0f 2005. Obama stopped by and personally wrote a diary about why he would not support a fillibuster on the John Roberts vote. The diary is now topical again because within the contents of the diary Senator Obama tipped his hand to us all.
Perhaps even about FISA.
This election represents a hope I have for my country. After eight years of darkness and a self-serving and destructive administration, I still have hope. That’s what makes me a democrat, a belief that our country can and will reach its full potential.
It hasn’t always been easy, and at times it’s been downright hard and depressing. Especially, since it seems we lost one of the greatest resources for truth this country has ever had… an independent and truthful media.
I took my first journalism class in 1978 as a freshman in high school, became editor of the school paper, and continued to write professionally (as a sideline) as a columnist for a trade journal into the early 00s. I was always taught that journalists have a responsibility to the truth and to their audience.
Today, I am dismayed, and a bit alarmed, at the MSM; but, I still have hope because of you…I’m proud of you....
