Our government, from the top down, is guilty of having no plans to solve anything. It doesn't matter whether we're talking about the wars in Iraq and AFghanistan, the debt "crisis," health care, energy, border security, immigration, ad infinitum. Our government hasn't the courage to admit it has no plans to solve these problems, and apparently no conscience to admit the grievous pain, death, and suffering their lack of planning and lack of courage forces onto the citizenry...particularly our military and their families, the poor and, increasingly, the middle class. Democrats and Republicans are equally at fault...although it's easier to excoriate Republicans because they are unashamedly soulless. Then again, what good is having a conscience and a soul if there is no plan to solve whatever the problem is, no plan to finance the plan if there was one, and no courage to even admit how incredibly feckless it is to pretend there is a plan.
