Okay, I've heard all of the spin tonight from both sides. Even though the general consensus
tonight is that John Kerry won, the Republican talking points are coming through loud and clear.
"Democrats were desperate to spin this debate as a Kerry win"
and
"Even though Kerry hit on a few good points tonight, he did not do what he had to do to close the deal. He did not successfully answer the President's charges as to why he keeps changing positions on Iraq".
If you find yourself in a position to discuss these debates, keep an ear open for these talking points.
Don't forget that Al Gore actually did better in the debates in 2000. It was only the spin in the subsequent days that allowed Bush to "win".
