I wonder whether this article has been discussed on kos. (I apologize if it has been). I never understood what our real intentions were in Iraq until I read this. Apparantly the "provisional government" had more incideous motivations than just stupid reelection propaganda. We wanted to legally sell Iraq to corporations and we could not be "occupiers" to do so. This to me is the smoking gun and yet I only stumbled upon it. Your are all such good writers. I hope that you are part of the rapid response network and write the papers every day! Please read this and write comments. The article is 14 pages long. It explains that as occupiers we were not legally allowed to sell Iraqui assets to the highest bidder. The Iraquis are not happy about our plans to sell their country.
