KarenDC and a bunch of the regulars at Democracy Cell Project are all marching in DC this weekend. People are flying from IL, MI, CA and driving from MA, NY, NJ, VA, and other places.
They helped out with set up today... Check out what they did and who they talked to below the fold.
We'll be blogging live and posting their pictures at the DCP blog from now through Sunday. Rumor has it that a documentary filmmaker has hooked up with them and that we'll get some video too but we'll see.
KarenDC and Suz spent the afternoon helping set up the concert and rally site on the mall and interviewed some of the others who have shown up. Operation Ceasefire is organizing the concert which will follow the march. (more details on concert below)
There are stories and more pictures of some of those who've come to help get ready for the march and why they came at the DCP blog.
Message from the Operation Ceasefire people via KarenDC:
All in all, there is a lot of heart and soul out here today. Jose, who is overseeing logistics, asks us to do two things:
-- if you are coming here, they still need volunteers for the concert.
- if not, please donate to Operation Ceasefire--if everyone just sent a few dollars, the concert can break even.
You can actually see the first three hours of the concert if you can access FreeSpeech TV on your satellite dish. Please help get the messages out.
The musicians scheduled for the concert are listed here along with other info
