When I read a few days ago that Murtha was being swiftboated, I decided we needed to fight back, but how? It always seems like we are in the position of defending one of ours
after the fact. As I read the comments after kos's post today on
"Swiftboating Murtha", there was one comment that really stood out to me by Exclamation Point Brian. EPB's comment was
Perhaps GOP is only practicing up...for the swiftboating of all Fighting Dems in 2006. Time to innoculate each one against the inevitable smear campaigns.
We need to go on the offensive and let the duck-and-run Republican "leadership" begin trying to defend their unpatriotic actions. Let's not wait for them to smear us--let's get the truth out there first! I put together a list of 10 ways that the "Republican elite" dishonor our soldiers. Please add to the list. And let's go on the offensive NOW!
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they smear the service of those who have honorably served.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they excuse and protect their relatives from serving at the same time they loudly call upon others to serve.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they refuse to provide our military with the protective gear they need.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they refuse to provide for disabled soldiers after they come home.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they demand that American sons and daughters die to protect their rich life style.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they transport a dead soldier in the dead of night without an honor guard just to save a few bucks.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they stuff their own pockets by paying their contractors in Iraq even as they whine about how much it is costing them in taxes to support our soldiers.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they demonstrate their belief that "talking the talk" has more value than the soldiers who are out there fighting the fight.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they marginalize the best in the military while they promote their own weakest failures.
- The Republican elite dishonor our soldiers every time they demonstrate they are more concerned with looking right than with being right.
