After almost two thirds of Nader's 2004 nominating signatures in Pennsylvania were found to be improper, a court there is saying there were implications of
fraud and deception in the signature gathering process.
A group of Pennsylvania voters sued to block Nader and
Peter Camejo, who were running as independent candidates, from being placed on the ballot.
As a result of the lawsuit, the state Commonwealth Court found wide-ranging improprieties among Nader and Camejo's petition signatures and disqualified nearly two-thirds of the 51,000 signatures they submitted.
Does this sound similar to
Romanelli's petition drive?
What I would like to see is whether any of the same actors were involved in both drives. A lot of republican checks and republican footwork went to Romanelli via Santorum this year - did the same people work with Nader? Were the same signature gathering companies used?
hopefully the people checking Romanelli's signatures will have a chance to connect any appropriate dots, and perhaps prosecutors would take note of people involved with TWO fraudulent nominating petitions, as if one wasn't enough.
note: the link to Romanelli's signature drive goes to Maggie Mae's diary urging people to volunteer to help review the signatures for the DNC. Kudos to anybody on DKOS who went and helped out!
