We have seen it for years on end now and may I apologize for this diary looking more like a rant than an information based tool for all to use, but, President Bush in all his glory, has begun to crack under the strain of "staying the course".
Last week's interviews and press conferences have shown all that watched that our President is so personally invested in the correctness of his vision for the world he can no longer take questioning, much less criticism, of the positions he holds.
Evolution theory tells us that adaptation to changing circumstances is the only method for life to sustain itself. More after the fold.
The interviews last week showed an edgy President seemingly ready to get physical with Matt Lauer during an interview when Lauer questioned the President about the legality of the current interrogation methods.
Later in the week Bush became like the kid on the playground who would take his balland go home if he didn't get the exact set of rules he wanted.
The unravelling of Bush's position has begun in earnest and it appears only Bush and his cronies are blind to their failure.
Karl Rove's desire to control each 24 hour news cycly with Bush as his star player is doomed to fail as George implodes(or will he explode?) in public daily until the November elections.
What once was generally accepted as "steely determination and tenacity" is now perceived, even by GOP pundits like Peggy Noonan as the inability to accept new information and adapt to the changing reality of the world around him.
The integrity involved in understanding when one's position is no longer valid is not a gift that Bush or anyone in real power in his Administration appears to possess.
This inability to adapt in politics will have the same result as if it were the inability to adapt to changed living conditions with the result being EXTINCTION of the species of the genus "BUSH POLITICUS".
Those in the GOP that remain attached to the policies of this administration will meet the same fate as the DODO.
