Well, well, well...long time, no communicado. I want to say, right off the bat, that I miss this place and the intense involvement afforded to me while sitting at home in my boxers all day, looking for work. Alas, I now have this pesky thing that interrupts my blogging called a job. Them's the breaks. :)
I don't know what this diary will end up being other than a series of comments on the important stuff we know about here, not the various "Britney-'Ellen-crying-over-dog'-'OJ-takes-memorabilia-at-gunpoint'" shit on the various sideshow attractions they call news on the major and cable networks, of course.
I guess my biggest WTF!?!?!? right now is this: Why are we not on our way out of Iraq already? Hasn't the occupation gone on long enough? I mean, who really owns who in BeltwayLand, D.C.?
See ya below the fold.
What happened to the Democratic takeover that I relished a year ago when I first got intensely involved in politics and joined this site? Seriously...call me idealistic but didn't we have a pretty clear public mandate to clean house and set things in order post haste?
I know this site is about electing Democrats and that the basic theory goes something like "We need to be patient and work to get more D's in office so we can cause the change we want" but I honestly wonder if we have the time.
I mean, is it just me or is anybody else seeing that there's a substantial number of Democrats who are blocking progress and challenges to this criminal gang in the White House just as much as the ReThugs, only in a different, politically-correct, sickeningly-amiable way?
What is so impolite about standing up and calling a spade, club, diamond or heart exactly what they are, the four suits in a deck of cards? :) But seriously, sometimes nice people have to get "mean", if only to get the mean people to start being nice. Jesus didn't ask the moneychangers to leave the temple politely. He kicked their asses. They deserved it. So do the forces we are up against.
Harry Reid & Nancy Pelosi had me cheering a year ago. Now, not so much. I won't bad-mouth them because I'm on their side and I know I can't fathom what they must go through in that foul cesspool we call Capitol Hill so I guess I'm still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but, c'mon! America is crying out for real leadership and a representative government that puts their needs first, not the needs of a select few who want to continue their push towards controlling every aspect of the economy, the government and our very lives.
I'm seriously starting to wonder if the only answer will be a complete and total revolution...peaceful, if possible but, in the end, a person's survival instinct will kick in and then all bet's are off.
I hope it doesn't come to that. I long for the day when we can all just truly get along and live in harmony together but I fear that day will not come soon enough. At least not in this lifetime.
Who knows what's next? Maybe all of this anguish, despair, hopelessness and endless, regressive, self-destructive violence and evil is for a reason. Maybe the answer will come to us on the other side.
Hey, a man can dream.
Peace Out...Rogerdaddy ;-)>
