Again, the pundit class just can't stand it. Poll after poll after poll says Joe won the debate, but that's not enough for them. The pundits are trying to make it a horse race. They want to say Sarah won on cuteness and spunkiness. Cuteness and spunkiness doesn't cut it anymore, this isn't 2000, 2002, 2004 or even 2006, most Americans are ready for substance not gimmicks.
According to most of the pundits; "Sarah stopped the bleeding." I've got news for them, not by the polls. Whether insta polls conducted by CBS or CNN focus groups Joe won. And all the polls I went to in this diary, Joe won overwhelmingly. I haven't checked back with these polls since last night so the GOP freepers may have come in since last night, but last night. Only Drudge's poll had Palin in the lead.
If the polls are still up that are linked in Doctor Frog's diary go add your vote. To say that Sarah has stopped the bleeding is a bit premature, they have no way of knowing if that's true. IMHO, Americans have grown up a bit in the last several years and they are not going to be distracted by the antics of the GOP and the oohing and aahing by the media.
I did hear one very distressing thing last night, as Chris Matthews was signing off he did some quick comments by the crowd, as he struggled to find a McCain supporter the one he found said something very disturbing. Asked why he supported McCain he replied; "I'm prowar". Now, he also explained that he was being Commissioned this December. I wanted to toss Brandon's book through the television to him. Here's a guy who has romanticized war and could put his troops in peril if someone doesn't clear his head of his romantic ideas about war. I've never heard anyone, including the chickenhawks say they were "prowar", they use euphemisms, but they don't say it outright, that was scary. Chris was stumped, all he could manage to say was "thank you for your service." Ho-ly Shit! I don't think even McCain's campaign would have chosen this guy for this response, because this would scare the shit out of every mother.
Okay, on with the business of Mojo Friday.
Mojo Friday Guidelines
- If you comment you have to recommend all comments. (in order to recieve mojo you have to give mojo. It's only good mojo manners.)
- Everything you say may be taken as a joke (so if you ask a question, expect a silly answer)
- You must recommend the diary (and pimp it unapologetically)
- You don't have to comment to recommend.
- You can't steal my idea (right, like that ain't goin' to happen)
- Please, no pictures or YouTubes until after 300 comments
- Mojo mojo mojo mojo, mojo mojo mojo
Mojo Friday Goals
A. at least 300 different commenters and 1000 comments by 1:30 PM EST and 1500 by 5:00 PM EST Friday Night that it's posted.
B. 100 recommends for each comment, at least.
C. Stay on Recommend List at least five hours (this requires some strategic planning by you guys, refer to guideline #3)
D. At least 200 diary recommends. 300 would be better, spread the word.
E. And always, fun fun fun.
F. Have at least 75% average participation rate as seen here in the Mojo Friday Postgame Show by a new guy.
G. Have at least 30 kossacks over 90% participation (see here for some tips).
H. Overload the servers with recommends, not to mention dominate Top Comments Mojo list. (we do tend to mess with the site with all of our recommends at one time)(also, to dominate the Top Comments Top Mojo we need at least 50 comments with over 100 recommends, see guideline B)
I. That's enough for now. (Have a suggestion? Post it.)
MKinTN posted a diary to help everyone achieve greater success called How to Succeed at Mojo Friday Without Really Trying.
