My son is a senior at University of Oregon in Eugene, and the basketball team is in the first round of playoffs tonight (ahead at the half, as I understand, I'm still working...)
The whole campus is excited to be in the "dance" but what really has my kid excited is Obama's appearance there tonight.
My son called at NOON and said folks were already lining up for seats for Obama's 9 pm appearance.
There was so much excitement about Barack's upcoming event that young people are skipping basketball to wait in line for first-come, first-serve seats.
I've been up and down all week about the way Obama has been tarred by the Wright issue. I can't even understand what the big deal is. But there are many older folks who feel Obama is irreparably damaged by the controversy.
If he's so damaged, why are kids spending their entire day waiting just to hear him speak?
How can anyone doubt that this brilliant man should succeed the stuttering fool who has occupied the White House for 7+ years?
This man WILL be president. The multi-culti youth of America have spoken.
