My somewhat idealistic, politically aware, Obama-volunteering, 18 year old daughter sent me the following email this morning, after reading comments of Clinton campaign operatives at FirstRead. With her permission, here's what she wrote:
Every. single.WORD. in this article makes me angry: What, that? Negative?
It’s ALL BS. All of it.
"Sen. Obama did run a negative radio ad against us in Texas" - which gives you permission to spew sh** his direction in Pennsylvania?
"This is not the first time we’ve seen an ad like this"- you're right, but you're always the ones running them!
"I am quite confident that regardless of the outcome … that the party will come together and do everything it can to support the nominee against John McCain"- that’s what the PARTY has been trying to do since.. like, a month ago!
"There’s a great deal of concern about Sen. Obama’s remarks in California"- yeah, but the only people concerned are people involved with YOUR campaign
"several different explanations -- none are quite satisfying to voters in Pennsylvania"- voters? what voters? they seem pretty okay with it to me.
"The Clinton campaign also questioned Obama’s 'transparency'"- oh PLEASE
"calling on Obama to release his tax returns from 1997 to 1999, when he was an Illinois state senator"- trying to make it sound suspicious, eh? like he'd have a problem with it?
"For all their talk, one would have thought they’d have released all their tax returns"- give me a BREAK
"He cited that the Clintons have now had their taxes made public for 30 years"- yeah, but how long did it take us to pry that out of your clenched fists?
"When it comes to transparency the only thing transparent about Sen. Obama is his claim that he is transparent"- PFFT
"If he fails to win [in Pennsylvania], despite outspending us massively, it will be another sign he is unable to win the large states a candidate needs to win"- who says you get to decide which large states a candidate needs to win?
"Obama loss there would be evidence he is “unable to close the deal""- so if he can’t win outright, winning every state, he loses? is that how the process works?
