It is my opinion that the prolonged primary process is not a bad thing for our party.
Does anyone here remember 2004? Do you remember how the DNC decided that Dean would not make a good candidate because he (Send the kids out of the room here, they might not be able to handle this)'screamed' in Iowa. John Kerry was already in the Republican's sights and we all know how that campaign turned out. (In case you don't know we continued to be mired in Iraq, we got Alito and Roberts on the Supreme Court, oh, and we're in a recession. Did I mention that that big oil has had its most profitable years EVER since that election?)
That's what happens when you let the Republicans decide who you should run.
It's our process. We'll run it.
Now to the point:
So, Hillary is slinging mud.
I've given her my opinion.
I don't agree with her tactics, and I think they are damaging to the party.
Flippo.
"Please stop the negative campaigning.
Senator Clinton, your negative campaign tactics only serve to harm Democrats and help the Republicans.
You have ever right to stay in the race for the Democratic nomination for President, but you do not have a right to undermine all of the hard work we on the ground have done to make our party what it is today.
Both you and Senator Obama are extraordinary candidates. You both have great strengths and you would both make great Presidents.
It is up to the democratic voters to decide who will run as our Representative this year. Please just run on your strengths and accept what we decide
Negativity won't pull you through.
Peace."
- I did not attribute the last line to Bob Dylan in the e-mail, but am doing so now.
Senator Clinton is not running for President of Barak Obama, or for President of the Democratic Party. I would like her to focus on what she will do as President.
Keep running, go Progressive.
