Good Morning. I’m guest hosting juliewolf’s Sunday Puzzle Blogging today.
As usual, please don't put spoilers or solutions in the subject line of comments. Instead, identify the puzzle in the subject line and put the answer in the comment. We like to engage in a communal effort for large or difficult puzzles, but to each his/her own. If you don’t want to see a solution before you have solved a puzzle, switch ‘expand’ to ‘shrink’ before you read the comments.
If you must read and run but intend to return, hotlist the diary or make a comment so you can more easily find the diary again. The solvers are a tenacious lot. We usually have solved the acrostic by Monday or Tuesday, although this past week we fell for misdirection and didn’t finish until Thursday. Relax, I don’t think this one is too difficult, so if you haven’t participated before, today is your lucky day.
Puzzles start after the break...
Puzzle #1 - Geography
In what city and country was the above picture taken? Major bonus points if you can name the structure.
Update: Sharpner has solved puzzle #1
I’ll have a go at Nova Land’s Catch Phrase puzzles, even though I’m horrible at solving them and don’t even understand some of them when the intended answer is posted. If catch phrase puzzles have rules, I don’t know them, so my efforts might be a wee bit unconventional. We’ll see. Outrageous guesses are encouraged.
For example: For the puzzle TOMACSH you might see the letters MAC inside of TOSH. MAC IN TOSH. So the solution would be MACINTOSH. See how easy that is?
Puzzle #2 – Catch Phrase

Puzzle #4 – Catch Phase
ADJOURNED, + DOOMED TO FAILURE - FOR
Okay, those are probably too easy, this one may prove to be more difficult.
Puzzle #5 – Catch Phrase

Yep, that’s as I intended. It makes perfect sense to me :)
I’ll use Julie’s standard explanation for an acrostic.
The rules for an acrostic are simple: for each row, the answer (to the corresponding clue) is a word of increasing length, such as a five-letter word, a six-letter word and a seven-letter word. Each next size word is formed by adding a letter to the previous letter word and scrambling.
In the box in-between each word, put the extra letter. I.e., if your answers were:
ITEMS, MISTER and RED MIST
You'd place an "R" in the box between ITEMS and MISTER and a "D" between MISTER and RED MIST.
When you solve the whole puzzle, find the relationship of the answers of the down columns. Sometimes the down answers are not simply spelled top to bottom. Sometimes the answers start somewhere other than the top or the bottom. Sometimes there is crossover between the down columns, and sometimes the down columns may be anagrams.
Sometimes the puzzlemaster does not specify the number of letters in the across answers or the number of words in a horizontal row, but not today.
