I hope most Americans know and realize that one of the hallmarks of the EVIL Iranian theocracy is that every presidential hopeful has to go before the grand Ayatollah and answer questions regarding his faith in order to secure the cleric's blessing.
I hope the irony of it doesn't get lost on my American friends.
Debate? At a church? Anyone heard of the First Amendment?
I'm not sure how the retarded idea of having a second tier preacher host a presidential debate came about but it's really making a mockery of separation of church and state. What is going to happen if a mosque decides to ask both candidates some theological questions? And then a Hindu temple? And a synagogue? And a neo-pagan cult? And the Watchtower society? And...
The reason the first amendment was put into place is precisely to prevent conundrums like the one I just outlined. While a debate hosted by a private individual and broadcast via private networks might not violate the letter of the First Amendment it certainly violates the spirit.
